Claire Hodsman Client Manager
Claire joined Hunter Gee Holroyd during the merger with Gardiners Chartered Accountants in July 2016.
After studying Business and Finance at university, Claire joined the profession in 2002. Claire qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2004 and as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2005, winning prizes in both sets of exams.
Claire looks after a range of clients across various sectors including construction and property management. Claire has particular experience in advising buy to let landlords.
In her time away from the office, Claire enjoys spending time with family, reading, watching films, and shopping.
James Pullein Cloud Accounting Manager
Having joined us in 2005 straight from college, James progressed through the AAT and ACA qualifications and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2012.
James manages a portfolio of owner managed businesses and has gained experience in all aspects of the practice through working across all three of our offices.
James is also the firms support person for our Accountancy software and the lead for cloud based systems and Xero implementation.
When James is not in the office, he spends his time playing cricket and golf and would love to travel the world mountain biking!
Jessica Jackson Client Manager
Jessica joined us in 2004 after completing her A-levels. She progressed through the Accountancy qualifications AAT and ACA, later qualifying as a Chartered Accountant.
Jess works extensively in new company formations and in raising finance for clients within our Corporate Finance department. She is also our Sage specialist.
In her spare time, Jess enjoys running, shopping and spending time with her family.
Ming Wang Senior Accountant
Ming joined us in 2004 and is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians.
She looks after sole traders, partnerships and companies accounts, as well as their tax returns.
Ming graduated from Shanghai International Business University and is fluent in both written and spoken Chinese.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, socialising with friends and family and learning new skills.
Nicola Durham Client Manager
Nicky joined Hunter Gee Holroyd in 2002 after successfully completing a BA (Hons) degree in business and management studies.
She is AAT and ATT qualified and is primarily involved in the preparation of accounts, tax and VAT returns.
She is also the self-appointed HGH social events co-ordinator and member of the ‘Fun Committee’, responsible for organising team events outside of the work environment.
When she isn’t at work, Nicky enjoys spending time with her family, going to the gym, and shopping – lots of shopping.
Paul Dyson Easingwold Office Manager
Paul joined us in 1995 and after a brief spell in the York office he is now based at our Easingwold Office.
Paul has a wealth of experience but particularly enjoys legitimately reducing his client’s tax bills.
When Paul is not in the office he enjoys cycling and spending time with his family.
Paul Morris Tax Manager
Paul Morris, who is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser, has over 14 years of experience in the accountancy profession, following a career as an engineer in the petrochemical industry.
He brings considerable experience in advising clients on Capital Gains Tax, Capital Allowances and Research and Development taxation for business start-ups.
Peter Maxwell Client Manager
Peter joined us in 1991 and has a wealth of experience working with small to medium sized businesses.
Peter manages a business portfolio and enjoys analysing and interpreting financial information and other data to produce relevant financial accounts.
When Peter is not in the office he enjoys spending time with his family and following his local football team.
Robert Hancox Client Manager
Robert qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1998 and has more than 17 years experience of working with small to medium sized businesses.
Robert also works extensively with charities and solicitors supporting them with advice, preparation of accounts, specialist audit and independent examination services.
When Robert is not in the office he enjoys listening to music, swimming and going to the cinema.
Robert Salenius Tax Manager
Robert qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1991 and has more than 26 years of experience working with small and medium sized businesses and private clients.
Robert enjoys explaining the intricacies of tax law to clients and helping them to reduce their tax bills.
Outside of the office, Robert enjoys reading, music and walking.
Sharon Cox Client Manager
Member of Association of Accounting Technicians and Member of Association of Tax Technicians.
Sharon joined us in 1989 as an Accounts Trainee and has now been a client manager in our farming department for more than 10 years.
She works in both our Easingwold and York offices and looks after a range of clients from small sole trader businesses to large partnerships and limited companies.
In her spare time Sharon enjoys going to the gym, listening to music and shopping.
James Shaw Client Manager
James joined us from the accountancy sector. He completed his AAT qualifications and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2020.
James is responsible for looking after a range of clients from sole traders and partnership, to companies.
James enjoys playing football for his local team and attending live music events.
Tracey Atkinson Senior Accountant
Tracey joined Hunter Gee Holroyd in 2013 and is based in the Filey Office. She is a Member of The Association of Accounting Technicians.
Tracey has worked in an accountancy practice since leaving school. She then had 10 years out (for good behaviour!) working as a School Business Manager. Since moving to North Yorkshire Tracey has returned to accountancy!
In her spare time Tracey enjoys researching family history, yoga, spending time with family and friends, exploring the great North Yorkshire Moors, and drinking red wine responsibly!
Charmaine Weintraud Senior Bookkeeper
Having recently joined Hunter Gee Holroyd and based in the York office, Charmaine is a certified bookkeeper and Xero advisor.
Charmaine has over 10 years’ of bookkeeping experience where she gained a broad understanding of various business sectors.
In her spare time, Charmaine enjoys taking long walks in the country and travel. Family time is a priority and she has a love for gardening.
Edward Butterfield Semi-Senior Accountant
Ed joined Hunter Gee Holroyd in September 2014.
He became MAAT qualified in September 2017 whilst working at Hunter Gee Holroyd and is now studying for his Chartered Accountants qualification.
When Ed is not in the office, he spends his time playing football and socialising with his family and friends.
Tim Turner Filey Office Manager
Tim joined Hunter Gee Holroyd in May 2018 and is based at our Filey office.
Tim has over forty years experience within accountancy practice in particular with sole traders, partnerships, small/medium sized companies and self assessment tax returns.
In his time away from the office Tim enjoys walking, travelling and spending time with his family.
Cathryn joined Hunter Gee Holroyd in February 2020 as a Book-Keeper at our Filey office. Having spent the previous 12 years working in Further Education, she decided to return to bookkeeping having qualified through ICB many years ago.
Away from the office, Cathryn enjoys spending time with her daughter, taking part in horse riding and meeting up with friends and family.
Natalie joined HGH in August 2020 with over 9 years’ experience working in an accountancy practice with bookkeeping, accounts and tax returns.
Natalie completed her AAT Level 4 in May 2014 at Yorkshire Coast College, Scarborough. She has experience in Quickbooks, Sage, Xero and Iris.
In her spare time, Natalie enjoys being with her family and also volunteers as the Commanding Officer at Scarborough Sea Cadets, running a Ships Company of over 100 cadets aged between 10 and 18 and 30 voluntary staff members.
Helen Akkary Receptionist/Administrator
Helen joined Hunter Gee Holroyd in May 2021 in a secretarial/administrative role at the Filey office. She previously worked in banking for twelve years.
In her spare time Helen enjoys painting, drawing and spending time with her children.
Kelsey Cook Client Manager
Having joined us in September 2014, Kelsey has progressed though the AAT and Chartered Accountancy qualifications while working at Hunter Gee Holroyd.
Kelsey is now working towards the completion of her Chartered Tax Qualification.
Kelsey manages a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and is also part of the corporate finance and tax department.
Kelsey is also a board member at MAKE-YORK networking group in York.
In her spare time, Kelsey enjoys spending time with friends and family and takes an interest in Fashion!
Nicola Ward Semi-Senior Accountant
Nicola joined Hunter Gee Holroyd in February 2019, with six years' experience in the accountancy profession.
In June 2015, Nicola completed her AAT qualifications.
In her spare time, Nicola enjoys watching Sheffield Steelers Ice hockey, attending car shows and spending time with family.
Max Pycroft Semi-Senior Accountant
Max joined Hunter Gee Holroyd in May 2021, with two years' experience in the accountancy profession.
He has completed his AAT Level 3 and is finishing his level 4 qualification at York college with the ambition to start his chartered qualifications afterwards.
In his spare time, Max likes to go to the gym, play golf and enjoys watching football and rugby union
Callum Roberts Accounts Technician
Callum joined Hunter Gee Holroyd in February 2018.
He has completed his AAT Level 2 and is currently studying for his level 3. He has worked in the accountancy profession since leaving sixth form in 2016.
When not at work Callum enjoys watching rugby league.
Clare Walker Payroll Manager
Clare joined us in 2008 and heads our payroll support team, managing a number of small to medium sized businesses. She provides help and advice on payroll and is also a Sage payroll specialist.
Clare is a member of CIPP (The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals)
In addition to this, Clare also provides assistance with Bookkeeping and VAT for a number of our clients.
Away from work, Clare likes to relax in the kitchen and is a keen baker, specialising in cakes!
Julie Wilkins Practice Administrator
Julie joined Hunter Gee Holroyd in October 2018 as practice administrator bringing many years of accounts experience within large to medium size businesses in varied Industries.
When out of the office Julie enjoys cycling, spin classes, learning to play the piano and eating out with friends.
Katie Walters Receptionist
Katie joined the Hunter Gee Holroyd team in February 2019.
She is NVQ 3 Business Administration qualified and previously worked in the construction industry for twelve and a half years.
Katie has two young children and enjoys dining out, shopping and spending time with her friends and family.
Charlie Pearson Cloud Bookkeeper/Accounts Junior
Charlie joined Hunter Gee Holroyd in February 2019 with previous experience in the accountancy sector.
She has completed her AAT Level 4 and is currently working towards her Chartered Accountants Qualification. Charlie is a Xero Certified Advisor.
In her spare time she enjoys going to the gym, walking her dogs and socialising with friends and family.

Clair joined Hunter Gee Holroyd as Marketing Manager in January 2019.
Clair brings over a decade of experience in the professional and financial services sectors. She has a background in digital and service sector marketing and is responsible for developing and delivering the marketing plan and business development.
In her spare time Clair enjoys going to the gym and running, listening to live music and reading. She also enjoys socialising with friends and family.
Sally Ward Book keeping and Payroll
Sally joined Hunter Gee Holroyd in March 2013 after a career in banking.
Sally works in the Easingwold office. She deals with payroll, book keeping and secretarial duties.
Sally is a Member of CIPP (The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals).
In her spare time, Sally enjoys playing tennis, making a fool of herself at zumba classes, listening to all types of music & spending time with her family.
Sarah Richardson Payroll, Bookkeeping and VAT assistant.
Sarah joined the payroll team at Hunter Gee Holroyd in June 2016 from a local building society.
Sarah says her specialism in the office is making brews (!), but her skillset also extends to payroll, bookkeeping and VAT support.
In her spare time Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her young family. She also enjoys horse riding and competing, Greyhound Racing, running and keeping fit.

Nick Lawson Wealth Management Director
BSc (Hons) Chemistry, Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analysis, Dip PFS – Regulated Financial Planning.
Nick joined the Financial Services Team at HGH Wealth in October 2011 having already gained 11 years’ experience in the Financial Services sector providing specialist investment solutions to private and business clients with a variety of planning and wealth management needs.
Nick is a fully qualified investment professional and committed to the provision of holistic, independent financial advice services to all our clients as well as to his own further personal development as a Chartered Financial Planner.
Prior to joining us, Nick has worked throughout the country but was born and bred in York and returned to his roots to settle with his young family – the focus of his time outside the office.
Nick also enjoys looking after his marine aquarium and playing golf.
Matthew Good Independent Financial Adviser
BSc (Hons), DipPFS – Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, Certificate in Mortgage Advice, Certificate in Equity Release, Long Term Care Award.
Matt has over 8 years’ experience in Financial Services and provides holistic financial planning advice to private and business clients. He is committed to his personal development towards becoming a Chartered Financial Planner.
Prior to joining HGH Wealth Management, Matt has worked for a multi-national company and an Independent Financial Advice Company in Leeds before returning to York to spend more time with his family.
Matt also plays for a local cricket team in York.
Sharon Ward Trainee Paraplanner
Sharon joined the financial services team as an administrator in December 2003. Following exam success and training, she has progressed to the role of trainee paraplanner.
Working alongside Susan, Sharon will be working closely with our firm’s professional partners and advisers to ensure that bespoke financial planning solutions are designed and managed for all our clients.
Sharon delivers seamless client service to our clients and arranges the regular reviews.
Outside of the office, Sharon enjoys being a Brownie Guider, listening to music, reading and following Castleford Tigers rugby league team.

Sarah joined HGH Wealth Management in March 2018 with 5 years'
experience in the Financial Services Industry.
Sarah's responsibilities include welcoming clients who contact or visit HGH Wealth Management. She also provides administrative support to help deliver a consistent, high quality service to clients.
