Responsibilities
- Manage and prepare accounts for a portfolio of clients across various sectors.
- Preparation of company/individual tax returns.
- VAT returns and offering advice where necessary.
- Review of Bookkeeping.
- Billing, fee quotes & renewals and review debtors and WIP.
- Hands on exposure working with clients on a regular basis.

Skills Required
- Experience in practice of working as a Client Manager / Senior Accountant.

Senior Tax Manager (York Office)
Are you an experienced Tax Manager or a senior taxation specialist looking to make a move to a firm that understands the importance of high-quality tax advice and rewards your expertise?
Hunter Gee Holroyd, a highly successful, well established and professional firm of chartered accountants are looking for an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join the team at our York office.
The role is full-time (although part-time would be considered) and you will be responsible for working on all tax activities including tax planning, tax compliance and preparation of business and personal tax returns.
Responsibilities
- Manage and encourage the tax team and be responsible for developing the department and its commitment to customer service excellence.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of clients who will depend on your expertise and advice on taxation.
- Attract new clients and contribute to the success of the firm.
- Work alongside Client Managers and Directors to spot opportunities and flag any areas of risk for clients.

Tax Processor (York Office)
We are recruiting for a driven Tax Processor to ensure that clients’ tax documents are prepared and filed on time. Responsibilities include developing solutions for potential tax issues, keeping abreast of new developments in tax legislation, and informing the team of new legislative developments. You should also be able to advise clients on tax planning, tax research, and tax compliance.
Responsibilities
- Accurately preparing and filing tax returns in a timely manner.
- Identifying tax problems and developing solutions.
- Develop tax strategies to assist clients in being tax-compliant.
- Complete responses and schedules in preparation for income tax audits.
- Monitor developments in tax legislation.
- Review tax returns.
- Inform management and team of developments in tax legislation.

Skills Required

Junior Accountant (York Office)
We are looking for a full-time junior/semi senior accountant to join our team.
As a progressive and forward thinking firm of accountants, we offer a supportive environment in which you will be encouraged to develop technically and progress in your career working closely with managers and other team members in a close knit team.
Responsibilities
- You will be involved in preparing unincorporated and company accounts and more wide ranging services such as tax and tax returns depending upon your level of experience.
- Day to day bookkeeping.
- Preparing VAT Returns.
- Answering telephones and assisting in other general office duties.
- Setting clients up on Xero/providing Xero support to the team and clients.
Qualifications and Competencies
- A confident user of MS Excel.
- Knowledge of accountancy software, such as Sage, Xero or Quickbooks etc desirable.
